Let's Resume the Erwin Files: People Need to Know These Data to Access How Crooked the Administration and School Board Are

The whited-out picture is I and the adorable fat lobby cat Matilda at the Algonquin in NYC.

That is where Dorothy Parker and all the NY wits had lunch and spat out bon mots. The hotel's rooms are small, but its atmosphere is large. It's where I usually stay when I go to the Met for a Ring Cycle. I never miss a Ring Cycle wherever it is performed. We all need an obsession. Mine is Wagner's Ring.

You will note that this AC entry below catalogues the beginning of Erwin's identifying the buildings' problems when he took over the Director of Operations job in 1998. He will continue this cataloguing and sending it to Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard until the faux "investigations" start in 2002 after the press learns of the theft and shoddy workmanship in the buildings and starts writing about these problems in the Tribune and Times.

Both Board-member Newsome and Superintendent Earl the Pearl Lennard have importuned Mr. Erwin not to go to the press. That importuning is in the court papers.

Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard will give Erwin the runaround and send him off on wild-goose chases to keep him diverted and spinning his wheels for four years. I marvel that Mr. Erwin didn't lose his patience earlier.

It's hard not to infer that Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard think that theft in the grounds department, job-time goofing off, McClelland's fixing bids for buddies and driving his school truck on school time and school gas for private business--not to mention bragging that he had got rich off the school system--were ok. And they thought ok too that buildings for which taxpayers paid top price leaked, had peeling paint, and water seepage everywhere. In their perverse ethics, Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard thought such trifles just the cost of doing business-- the ROSSAC way of business in the eyes of Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard. The administration appeared not to give a hoot about bleeding the taxpayer if the ROSSAC grandees got to continue in their perches of power and got their bloated salaries on time. They wanted the eclat of power, and to hell with the taxpayers' money.

The court papers mention the connection between architects and the board. I can't help feeling the connection with the graft opportunities for the board was extensive. In fact, let me be frank: I believe some board members took graft.

ACs, I learned from reading these files, are supposed to last about twenty years. The ones in the new buildings conked out after as little as a couple of years.

SUBJECT: LOCKHART NEW A/C SYSTEM

We have received emergency calls on the above mentioned air conditioning system 8/10/96, 6117/96, 6127196 & 711196. All stating system is down. The DX unit was in alarm and was off June 10, 1996 and was down again June 17, 1996 due to a power failure. On June 27, 1996 the system was down due to the air handler not running. Our H.S.C.B. mechanic, Rick Garcia, tightened some loose connections on the 110 board and was able to start the system back up again. Also, a knob on the main braker in control panel #3 of the DX unit is broken.
On July 1, 1996 and July 2, 1996 the system was again down on high static pressure (this problem was reported before, as far back as 2/12196) and a 12 AMP control breaker that feeds a transformer was tripped.

Due to these numerous emergency service calls, we would like you to please have Dynatherm check into these problems on the air conditioning system.

Thank You,

FONDG!clf

After several years of getting the runaround from the the Three ROSSAC Musketeers of calculated inefficiencies and ripping off taxpayers, Mr. Erwin came up with what I think is a clever idea. See below:

Both Board-member Newsome and Lennard importune Mr. Erwin not to go to the press.

I think the press is the first place a person with a story like this ought to go. Early press attention will save taxpayer dollars. It's false loyalty to the ROSSAC crooks to cover up for them. Go to the press. Go to the board and sing like a canary. That's where the loyalty of board employees' belong: to taxpayers, not to the crooks who run ROSSAC.

Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard will give Erwin the runaround and send him off on wild-goose chases to keep him diverted and spinning his wheels for four years. I marvel that he held his patience for four years.

It's hard not to infer that Davis, Hamilton, and Lennard think that theft in the grounds department, job-time goofing off, McClelland's fixing bids for buddies and driving his school truck on school time and school gas for private business are ok. It strains credulity for tadpayers to accept that contractors' producing buildings for which taxpayers pay top price for leaking structures with peeling paint and water seepage everywhere is just the acceptable cost of doing business the ROSSAC way. The administration appeared not to give a hoot about bleeding the taxpayer if the ROSSAC grandees got to continue in their perches of power and bled their bloated salaries on time from the taxpayers--not to mention the opportunities for graft that the situation presented to them to exploit. And don't tell me some didn't.

The current Lockhart Elementary was completed in 1995.
We have many locations that allow for water to enter the building which is the result of AC leaks or roof leaks, depending upon who is explaining the problem.

The board members who were on the board at the time of all this should be ashamed of themselves. How can they possibly find this acceptable? I remember Candy Olson talking about an audit that found that there was no waste. Did she bother to read these Erwin files? If she had read what was going on and still helped to paint Erwin as wrong, she is a terrible person.
