Ms. Cobbe: May I have the paperwork that accompanied this
Newsome landsale--the
bids, especially, and any land-use studies conducted by the School
Board as a precaution against such problems alluded to in this article as
the property's being in a flood zone. I want to see all relevant data on
the sale.

I request especially the file information that Ms. Cathy Valdez accrued on
this project.

Real-estate purchase mismanagement seems to be a constant at the School
Board, and nobody ever purports to know what happened. I refer to the
SPTimes article on the history of real-estate irregularities when Ms.
Elia was head of the building department which she purported to know
nothing about and about which the Board showed peculiar lack of curiosity,
absolving Ms. Elia and as all members are wont to do when some bad
piece of Board news that shows lack of vigilance on its
part comes up.

What current members were on the Board when Mr. Newsome retired? Did
or does the present Board rule on this sale so as to show it responsible for the information? Has the sale already gone
through, or is it still under review?

I want these data before the Board meeting on the 29th. I can come in
to view them to make the process faster.

Does the Board attorney review such purchases as a precaution? Has he
reviewed this one? Did he review this one?
