Citizen Request for Relevant Information
Ms. Olson,
I received a communication from a reader which says that you got a divorce in Sarasota and that you are no longer living in the district.
The divorce is sad. I jumped the shark on that one. I have been married to the same guy for almost 52 years, whole decades of which I hoped he would disappear into the sunset. But here he is sitting on the Stratolounger every night in front of whatever sports agon is running on TV, waiting for me to create some food in the kitchen, where all of us liberated women spend far too much our time. I am a walking refutation of the misogynists slogan that no man will marry and feminist.
I am always sorry to hear of divorce. Studies show our children suffer from their parents' divorce to the end of their lives. No matter how much parents hate each other, children want them to stay together.
So my condolences on your divorce, and please let the public know whether you are still living in the district. Ms. Ferreria tried slipping out of Brandon into the local Riviera Community of South Tampa. I lived there twenty years and could have told her that the people there are the same as the ones in Brandon, maybe worse. They gossip and wander around the streets drunk just as they do in all communities, no matter the posh reputation of some like South Tampa.
I would appreciate a speedy response to my residence question.

Looks like Elia using Stephen Hegarty used the school district email for personal use. She needs to report to Professional Standards. Below is an email sent out to everyone in the district. I have read about Bart Birdsall's problems, and it appears that the Superintendent is breaking the personal use policy of email. Either she or Stephen Hegarty is. He wrote it, but it was probably written at her request:
(If you already received a version of this email, please note the information below regarding Wednesday's visitation, which was not included in the earlier email.)
MaryEllen's mother, Mary Elizabeth Swartzenberg, passed away early Monday.
Below is the information regarding services, as well as the family address in case you would like to send a sympathy card.
Though I'm sure we all want to call her to offer condolences and offer to help, she needs some family time right now. I'm told that the family has all the food they need and MaryEllen is trying to stay off the phone, so let's resist the well-intentioned urge to call and bring food.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at 605 South MacDill Avenue.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at the corner of Twiggs Street and Florida Avenue in downtown Tampa.
Burial will be in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater.
If you would like to send a card, the address for MaryEllen and Albert Elia is 3602 West Jetton Ave., Tampa, FL, 33629.
Attached is a draft of the obituary that will run in the Tampa Tribune on Wednesday.

As if anyone else could announce her/his mother's death on school email! So tacky to fish around for cards and presents!
