Teachers Can Fight Back and Win

Debra Satchel is the teacher whom the administration hounded out of her job when she spoke up in defense of Doug Erwin. I think Tom Gonzalez must have missed the deadline for filing a response to this case. That will give me another reason to ask for his firing. lee

Press Release: SCHOOL BOARD FACES DEFAULT JUDGMENT

Teacher who dared file 14-count conspiracy complaint against County, 2 named and 37 unnamed-Doe defendants has moved for default judgment on all claims.

The School Board had 10 days over the usual 20 to answer any complaint. The School Board failed to do so.

In the motion filed on Friday, Satchel requested Judge James Arnold to order default judgment against all named defendants.

Satchel, with her health affected by the experience, seeks injunctive relief of back pay and immediate resumption of salary.

“It looks like they blew me off, and that really hurts,” said Satchell.

“In just the last week, I have been hospitalized for extreme anxiety over this ordeal. I can’t stop losing weight. I look to the Lord; He is the hill whence comes my help.”

Satchel says her termination was retaliation for her vocal support of Doug
Erwin for the board’s retaliation against him in 2002.

In his Whistleblower case,

Erwin prevailed on all counts for the board’s retaliation after he informed it of
theft and personnel absences with pay in the Office of Maintenance and repairs.

Current superintendent Maiyellen Ella got the job the board evicted Erwin from.

God, I hope they have to pay this woman and then fire Gonzales. He failed in his responsibilities to respond.

Keep at them Lee!!!

They owe this woman more than just money--a public apology would only be a place to start. Self respect costs nothing but is worth everything.

Lee,

What you are doing is wonderful. Keep on exposing them for who they are.

Thank you,
