They get their degrees from Nova University, a joke of a college if I ever heard of one. It is one step beyond a correspondence course.

The problem with these people is that people who take pride in themselves get degrees from decent universities. They take pride that they were at an institution that didn't simply pass someone for showing up. They take pride in the knowledge they gain.

But Nova graduates take glee in the fact that they have taken a short cut to better pay. They could care less that the college is a joke. They could care less whether their PhD degree is held in high esteem by scholars or not. They are looking for MONEY, MONEY, MONEY......

Sickening.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28089922.post-24845223758781291942008-10-29T16:41:00.000-07:002008-10-29T16:41:00.000-07:00You are a damn good writer and ever so vigilant. I...You are a damn good writer and ever so vigilant. I so look up to your command of the English language and the way you use it to shed light on the cronyism and corruption of this school board. I hope to be an English professor one day, but until then, I am an over-worked, under-appreciated high school English teacher in this county.

It is very sad to see the level of illiteracy among the students and know that there isn’t much I can do because of how far they are behind before they even step into the high school English classroom. Elia has made it even more impossible to monitor, correct, and develop literacy in young people, which is the cornerstone to all success in this modern world and in academia, by giving one English teacher 150+ students with just one pathetic planning period a day. It is impossible to truly teach, model, and foster high school writing skills if a student isn’t at a high school level when they come to you. This type of “production line” may be able to eek out a mediocre education in the Math classroom or in an elective, but it severely handicaps the English classroom and to think that it doesn’t greatly comprise the level of education a student receives just reveals the board’s complete ignorance and their cavalier assumptions about our education system.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
